Film Screening and Performance: Architects of HarmonicRooms & Records-Moving Image and George Chua

Architects of HarmonicRooms & Records-Moving Image is the moniker under which Harry Wheeler has been creating movies, organising music/film events and releasing records since 2006.

He has been documenting various underground music scenes such as free vocal glossololia/ avant folk/ turkish psych/ weirdo baroque.

Attracted to artists that carve their own path and create, more as a necessity to express themselves than a career choice, his short films explore various avant gardists, agent provocateurs, alchemists and stilted virtuosos. He explores the shadow play, dosed sounds and secret histories so we can tune into the vibrations of the planets.

His work ranges from demented collages of found footage, obscure horror and instructional videos to intimate conversations with artists such as steel sting guitar master Steffen Basho-Junghans and ethereal folk queen Josephine Foster as part of the “In conversation with…” series.

He will present some of the highlights of his archive from the past 9 years involving artists that have attempted to reach out to something beyond our known reality.

Master polymath George Chua whose performances have been in the form of sound recordings, glissing dark drone mutations, performance art and installation tears new shapes out of the ether for us tonight.
