Rachel Jordan – Stuck in Singapore

Independent Archive & Resource Centre presents
Rachel Jordan – Stuck in Singapore

Date: 27 March 2013, Wednesday,
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: 67 Aliwal Street, Singapore 199942

A former guest artist with the Stuckists, Rachel Jordan will talk about her personal involvement with this internationally known art group and how it continues to influence her approach to art, and life, today.
Stuckism is a provocative art movement that was founded in the UK in 1999, which aims to challenge conceptualism and the frequent pretentious hype about art, and instead promotes painting as an honest and truthful quest for communication.
As well as using photos of artworks, poetry and music by the group to illustrate her talk, Rachel will display actual examples of Stuckist paintings and propaganda. This will be an introduction to the ideas and artists behind the movement and an opportunity to discuss them.
